Your first ahh dammit
Okay shouldn't say this , however it's a year now since I've had the XB . Not one scratch or door ding . Just a tiny rock chip , on the front hood that happend on the I-5 in Sep . So far so good . Anyone remember their first .............

I was doing "OK" with a couple or so DPR issues when some worthless piece of **** scratched a groove into my drivers door (some two months ago). I've cleaned it up as best I can, but fact is, I've a groove scored into my drivers door, way less than pleased ! It's not so much the environment, it's the two legged crap that populate the roads.

Why did I start this thread ? Dammit ........yesterday loading stuff in the back cargo area . I closed the hatch and cracked the plastic cover on the rear hatch . Not too bad it's up high so you can't see it. Glued it back together . I should buy a new one , got an idea to custom out the old one . Guess I'll take interior damage over paint .

How about my 2012 Silver Auto XB, love it and done tons of mods in the first week, etc.
THEN, a huge rock hit my windshield, less than 200 MILES in the odometer, how about that?
It sucks but, at least I can replace it for about $200.

I scratched a hub cap this last weekend, because I'm not used to the quick steering at low speeds..... At least I have a full set of spare ones to work with. Other than that, like everyone else, I have rock chips in the front lower dam piece.... White Care, Little black Chips.... Not excited about the chip factor, but I'm working on a cure for the overly sensitive area.

My experience is that if I'm just easy pushing it into gear, the synchronizers do their job just fine. Also, shifting is smoothest with the gear oil warmed up.

FWIW -- Traveling anywhere near a dump truck (or the like), tends to invite stone impacts to the hood (or further back). Generally speaking, the greater the space you provide between yourself and the next vehicle, the greater protection you'll experience. In any case, I suggest as a goal the driver be far enough back that any missiles (stones) unleashed by the forward vehicle fall to the road surface before your vehicle arrives !
