Default Road Magnet springs

Anybody know what kind of reputation Road Magnet has?

These were mentioned on another Scion board:

On their website, they say:

Team Lexus 2002 won using Road Magnet Springs on their car.

Some racing school trains drivers using their springs.

Not sure if those are true, but if they are, that's a "decent" reputation. Too bad I've never heard of them . The spring rates/drop look better than most springs, but that's all I can see.

I noticed that the spring rate for the front is softer than it is for the rear with the Road Magnets. For the Tanabe, front and rear are the same. I have not checked the other brands.

There's nothing wrong with the spring rates being the softer in the front. The end result is like having a stiffer rear stabilizer compared to the front.

Didn't think there was anything wrong, I was wondering what was better for handling/ride comfort.

If my calculations are correct, the Road Magnet front springs are already stiffer than the Tanabes.

Yes, they are stiffer than the Tanabes which is why they are better for performance, although we don't even know if those are official spring rates, etc.

Road Magnet springs are designed with the idea you will be adding a stereo system or have cargo in the rear. That is why the spring rate in the rear is heavier.

contact steve@scionpro.com if you have any more questions about them. I think he offers free shipping with them.
