225/45/18's w/ 18X8 40 Offset will they fit?
OK I promise this is my last questions regarding Wheel and tire specs. After my last post I found out that 225/45/18's will work but with a 18X7.5 and a 42-48 offset, however I am having a hard time finding the wheels that I like in that size. What I did find is TSW Nagaro's in a 18X8 with a 40 offset. So the final question is will 225/45/18's work with 18X8 and a 40 offset. I am going with a NF drop.

generem is running 20x8.5 +40 TSW Estoril wheels with 225/35-20 tires on NF springs. 225/45-18's have the same tread width (with small variation between different brands), you'll have the same wheel offset, and your tire diameter is about .2" smaller. Based on all that comparison, you should still be fine with the 225/45-18 tires.

You are correct, but it's not as far off as you might think. Our speedo's are a little optimistic to begin with. Remember that Toyota goes overboard in trying to protect us from ourselves. While this is a larger tire diameter than stock, when the speedo reads 60mph, you're actually going about 61-61.5, not the 62.6 that the calculator comes up with.

I am running Falken ZE-912's 235-40-18's. The diameter is 25.5".
I haven't had it checked out, but I feel the speedo is almost right on the button. I realized the digital speed signs that flash your speed are not the most accurate, but every one that I have gone through seems to match my speedo,
I need to find a strip of mile markers to check the odometer. There is also a speedometer shop near my house that I have been debating to use to checkout the accuracy of my speedo.

GUYS, you should know by now how fast you are going by looking at your rpm gauge and gear you are in. (j/k)
I really don't think a few mph over or under is that big of a deal. As long as the wheels and tires fit onto your car and doesn't rub during corner or bump.
And always follow the flow of the traffic and you will be fine.
