Default does this work 18x7.5 40 offset

I checked the tire calculator and offset but I am not entirely how to read it. Will this offset stick out too much or hide under the fender trying to get close to stock as possible. I have the TRD springs so need to clear that as well.

This is the best calculator I have seen for comparing:

http://www.rims-n-tires.com/rt_specs.jsp?postId=906

Put in the stock #'s on left side (205/55-16 tires on 16x6.5 wheels with 45 offset), then whatever you're thinking about buying to see how they stack up against stock.

18x7.5 wheels with 40 offset should work fine with 225/40-18 tires and TRD drop.

Great link cionide, I use that one too. ponchy, look a few posts down and you'll see that chadfo runs a 18x8 38offset on TRD's and he's fine. I'm planning on running 18x7.5 with 35 offset on Tanabe's.

Thanks uberspeed, those wheel dims should look great with Tanabe DF's (I'm assuming that's what you'll be using since it seems like 99% of Tanabe users go with the DF's). Are you going with 225/40-18's?

I'm going to be that 1% that goes with the NF's since my butt is in the seat 600 miles per week, and I don't want quite that much drop. I'll be wearing 18x7.5 with 42 offset, which will only push them back under the fenders about 1/4" more than your 35 offset. I'm also hoping the setback will be a little less visible since my fenders will 1/2"-3/4" higher up than the DF's ride. I will be riding on 225/40-18's.

Thanks guys, that was the best guide I have seen. Yeah I saw chadfo's post and they setup how I would like it to look but the wheels I want only come in 40 offset

Correct on both counts sir :D
225/40 18
DF210's

I drive 30 miles each way to work every day and back but mostly highway miles so I won't feel the loss in sidewall mush too much, I've done +2 from OEM before with suspension cup kits and been very pleased.
I'm hoping it'll help with lean/roll in the corners give me more feedback from the road but not too much and yes, appeal to me much more aesthetically.

ponchy, between the 2mm offset difference and 1/2" narrower wheels, we're only talking about your wheel lips sitting back about 1/3" from the fenders compared to chadfo's. If this is just too much for you to accept, see if the wheels you want are available 8" wide; with the same 40 offset the outer wheel lips would only sit back from the fenders 1/10" as compared to chadfo's... no big deal, and probably not even visible to the human eye.

And uberspeed, I agree with the aesthetics of the 18's. I'm expecting the slightly softer NF springs to make up for some of the lost sidewall cushion or "mush" as you called it. I initially would have opted for 17's, but I've seen a lot of pics and IMO that 1" of extra diameter makes a huge difference in appearance.

Agreed CIONIDE, generally speaking a +2 from OEM is visible, a +1 is often cases not even worth it, at our size rims.
