Based on research 225 45 17 is best match but I want to add TRD lowering shocks (to start before coils) and front & rear sway bars

Will this size fill in the wheel well "space" - provide comfort for bumps and not rub with the springs? I've been looking at Goodyear's or Pirellis for rubber

Any help would be appreciated
Should have no trouble whatsoever. I'm running 215 45 17 with TRD lowering springs with tons of gap left.
The TRD springs are not as aggressive of a drop as others available.

As for comfort, I could not be happier. Not too stiff but plenty tight in the corners, especially for daily driving.

Thanks for the quick reply! - if I went with the NF210s down the road would I still be good to go with the 225 45 17?

Your beyond my knowledge now man. As a reference, look at the photo in post #437 in this thread. That's the tires I mentioned before with the TRD springs. They are 1" drop in the front and 1.5" in the back. Compare that to what you are looking at. Also, you might try to find someone around here that really knows their stuff.

Got the TRD drop yesterday: it's just right for me & the weather in the NE.

Now for new shoes on the 17x7 38 rims

Its a toss up between:
225 45
Or
215 50

Need to fill that wheel well gap more but not sacrifice the ride

That's good news. Send some pics along the way. The difference between the two you are considering would be very minimal with the 215 50's being slightly taller. Have you checked out willtheyfit.com? It's a pretty slick little tire calculator.

Can anyone tell me if 17x7.5 40 offset and 215/45/17 will fit my 05 Scion xB with out any spacers?

I have 17x7 40 offset on it now with 215/45/17 with no issues.

Please help, Thanks.

Yes. I ran stock wheels tires 205/55/16 with coilovers all the way down with no rubbing.

Had to replace (after 158K miles) the factory 16" alloys, finish started coming off for some reason.

Went with Niche NR6, 17x7.5, +45et and 225/45-17 all around.

Dropped on NF210s.

I was looking at 18's but this is my daily driver plus take passengers on a regular basis. From what I read 17's ride more comfortably.
