Default Question about Drop Star 20s

Greetings,

Looking in to getting this wheel for the box. Was curious what everyone thought about the size, back spacing, offset, etc... Also, looking for advice on correct tire size and which drop would be appropriate to avoid rubbing.

I appreciate any responses, thank you.

That link lists the wheel weight as 52.69#'s. which is crazy heavy!

The stock tires & wheels are about 44#'s total; with tires these Drop Stars would be in the 75-80# range. This is totally unacceptable for our little 4-banger. I can guarantee terrible acceleration, a crushing blow to gas mileage, and hugely accelerated brake pad wear (and probably a dangerous increase in braking distance).

For future reference, the size, lug pattern, and offset are all fine.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but you need to find some other wheels.

Those weights are headed the right direction, but still pretty high, and IMO chrome 20's are a bit too much bling for an xB, but it's your car. Is yours Black Sand Pearl?

Blackberry Crush. What would you recommend as a max weight so I know what is acceptable?

These don't look bad and the weight seems to be much lower.

That's the ticket!

With 225/30-20 tires you could go with just about any springs you want, and not have any rubbing problems.

I appreciate the input. On the above "Haze" wheel, what kind of affect do you think it would have on the acceleration and gas mileage?

A little bit, but not much. It's only a rough guess, but you'll probably lose 1.5 - 3 mpg.
