ride comfort with 18-inch wheels and tires
I'm going shopping for some 18's tomorrow, and I have seen a lot of different tire sizes out there. I'm thinking 225/40/18 with 40mm offset on Falcon 912's.
I would like the extra tire size of the 45's, but it looks like that combination is about one inch taller than the factory tire/wheel height, whereas the 40's are just barely larger than stock dia.
I'm looking at the DRIFZ 518 Hypersilver, ENKEI Rs7 Silver Gloss, ENKEI Rs Plus M Silver Gloss, and TSW's (can't remember the model, but they have about 12 spokes). I basically I like the 7, 8, 10, 12 spoke wheels. I have a BSM, so I'm not sure about powder coated with a machined rim, or chrome.
If my main concern is ride, tire noise, etc., are the 18's going to be ok? Or is my ride going to be compromised. I commute 25 miles each way to work, so I need to retain the comfortable ride.
Thanks
