Default rotating staggerd wheels

I am looking at a set of lexus is250 wheels that the fronts are 18x8 and the rears are 18x8.5. If I were to run the same size tires could they be rotated front to back or is that a no-no? If so, why? Also if I were to use a spacer for the 18x8 would it make a difference?

Thank you for the education!

You can rotate the tires, but they'll have to be dismounted and will probably incur an extra charge by the tire shop.

No. Only thing the spacer will do is effectively alter the offset, not the physical wheel width. 8" ≠ 8.5". Just like 18" tires will not fit a 19" wheel. 18" ≠ 19".
