Default Tire ?

I have 16" rims, stock 2 spoke rims. I need to get new tires. Currently the tires on the rims are 205/50 16. I am looking at 225/50 16 or 235/50 -16.

Can I fit a 235 in the wheel well and not have to roll the fenders? I do have the NF210 springs on my ride.

Thanks.

If you have the Toyota/Scion optional 16x6.5 alloy wheels, then the simple answer is yes, 235's will fit without rubbing on NF springs.

The detailed answer is that I normally wouldn't recommend going wider than 225's on a 6.5" wheel. You will have a decent amount of sidewall bulge, and while you will have a larger tread patch on the ground, turn-in and handling won't be quite as crisp as it would be with 225/50-16 tires.

The decision is yours.

I think I will go with the 225/50s because I dont want much tire sticking out the side, but I do want to fill in the gap in the tire well. Thanks for the response. I will get the rim size that I got and get back to you.

If you're checking the wheel size, also get the offset. I gave the above info assuming that they are factory Toyota alloy wheels, which normally have an offset in the +45 range.

FYI, those Kumho Ecsta ASX tires don't come in a 235/50-16 size.
The only 235/50-16 tire that I know of is the Toyo Proxes T1-R, and it runs about $150 per tire.
Good decision to stick with the 225/50's.
