i have a problem...the far right **** out of the three in the center console of my xD got punched in, and now its inside my dash. i took it to the dealership, they said it wasnt covered in the warranty because the warranty doesnt cover clips, which is what broke...the part is around $350 (or so they said)...im trying to find it online but i dont know what to look for ,ive tried 'air temperature control ****', 'climate control', etc...but i cant find the part...does anyone know the official name of it? or the part number?

 

the reason they're charging you 350 is cuz u need to buy the whole face for that thing not just a ****

i cant do that though because to ge the AC ***** i have to tke out the center console...and i dont have the tools...i just want to buy the part for cheap, then have toyota install it, and save some money

 

Save yourself a lot more money by pulling the enviro panel and glueing the **** housing back in the panel. The **** is removable from the control cable and power cable. Remove it from the car and go to town with some plastic glue/super glue. Its easier than you think.

yeah i have tried that actually, but for some reason because the clips broke it wont allow the **** to be pushed all the way through, i had my hand inside trying to push it out, but it would only go out like less than half a centimeter

 

Let me reiterate- take the panel off. Take the **** off. Trying to "pull" the **** thru isn't gonna work. I've taken those ***** apart more than a couple times to change the faces, they're a pain but once you've done it you'll see the tiny tabs they call clips. Or, just pay someone a bunch of money for the new part and even more for the labor charge. What's labor these days, ninety an hour?....

I replaced my entire AC control panel with one I found on Ebay. There are several companies on there that sell parts for cheap from wrecked XDs. Interior parts are usually in great condition.

 

Are these parts listed on Ebay or do you need to contact the seller? I've contacted two companies that were selling side airbags for the xD from wrecked ones, because I need to replace my whole headliner/panel for my roof. Both said that this part could not be shipped. So I'm thinking I have no choice but go to dealership or drive to a junkyard that actually has one (no wrecked xDs where I live). Sorry to threadjack!
