xD License Lights Replacement
Has anyone replaced those dim yellowish lights with really BRIGHT LEDs?
What is the easiest way to replace them, and is there any DIY available to do it ? I looked ad mine (one is out) and did a quick assessment on what is needed,
and I didn't want to start without first finding out if anyone has already done this, and what/how it was accomplished. The removal does not look that simple without removing the panel on the hatch with the emblem on it... :<(
Thanks !!

The xD is about the same thing. There are two small panels that yiou have to pry off with a screwdriver, but make sure that you do not scratch the surface. Then just find the light and twist it to replace the bulb. Installation is the opposite of removal. BTW, make sure that the bulbs are tight enough and try to find someone with small hands to do it for you.

i can't emphasize that last point more than he has.
i got ym left one changed to LED, but my right one, no one can get loose. i'm just ready to take it to the dealer, and ask them to change it.

I third? the small hands. I had the same problem almost as JJ, got one changed out no problem but the other just seemed stuck. I scraped up my hands but good trying to get that bugger out. Also, while you have the wires loose, plug in the replacements and switch the lights on to make sure they work and are making good contact. THEN put it all back together.
The lights from Garage1217 are what I have in my car and are awesome!

Re: XD License Lights Replacement
just remove the hatch panel to access the sockets with ease. its not that hard, just pop the handle out and grab the edge of the panel and tug hard.

only the high quality ones from china last!!! LOL two vehicles, two sets of LED's. one in each. not one problem. and the one was for a year and a half.
by the way, an old friend who builds cars helped me change the license plate lights. i thanked him by taking him and his wife out to ice cream! LOL

Bets of luck in the long run if you use your headlights a lot. Does not matter if they are china, us or whatever made, drastic heat will reduce the life of ANY led product by a marginal amount. Some people have used mine for years in the headlights without an issue, but I do not offer them for that purpose and will not warranty them if used in the headlights.

yea i put my regular ones back in the parking lights, and took the white LED's and put them in the license plate & it looks siick! and the white LEDs with that aluminum ring are in my dome lights on the interior and its amazingly white
