OK so here's the scoop from JE Import Performance. I had a meeting with James, the owner, this morning. First of all, holy crap, I had no idea they had so many over the top, cover feature, creations... really impressive. So here's what we discussed as far as development for the xD:

Custom Intake:
- Yes, they can absolutely do it, they do them all the time
- 1st person will be the guinnypig, $1500, initial dyno, R&D, CAD, fabrication, testing, ect.; recommends upgrading fuel pump but injectors probably not necessary
- The guinnypig will then use it for 200 miles or so to test; refine if necessary; dyno to determine gain
- Once complete, they will have it manufactured by Sikky (sikky.com) and added to their parts list
- Group buy of 10 or more would likely run $800, 5 - $1200 (estimate); would require $500 down each
- BTW, he said the custom intake in the pic I posted was horrible and the wet-nitrous setup was all wrong

Wire-Tuck:
- $85-$90 per hour; guesses about 5 hours for very clean result

Turbo:
- Custom set-up, Garett turbo, eManage Ultimate, upgraded injectors and pump; recommends about 8psi on stock motor, maybe less for auto trans (would require some research - anyone know if we can beef up the xD auto trans? How? Who?);
- $3K-4K for parts; $500-$600 for install (estimate)
- May also require clutch upgrade

Motor Swap:
- "We can and have, put just about any motor into just about any car"
- 2ZZGE swap; ballpark estimate - 5K

thank you very much sir

it seems to me that its very reasonable.
I figured the 2zz swap would cost about that much. im assuming that includes motor. trans and ecu.

for an xd trans. im only guessing that it can be compatable with the corolla trans from the previous gen.

I we can get 10 people for an intake I sure would be down. Dynatek was able to put out 15hp before they went out. I'm also considering The turbo option Cause I'm sure we can get atleast 230hp on 8 psi if the 1zz can do it

Theres someone from PR that used to be on here who turbo'ed their 2ZR and blew it and then did a complete 2ZZ swap and said it was better engine for the car.

That's the 1zz engine. That's pretty much how much they cost nd we basically have a corolla .. the gts is 2zz. That cost roughly 2200. Then trans prolly a gran

Question #1: I may volunteer to be the "guinny pig" for the intake but would getting this made and put on my car have any effect on turbo'ing later if I decide to to so?

Question #2: I read somewhere on this forum that there was a bottleneck in the xD exhaust from the header to the first factory cat... is this a downpipe? If so, do you happen to know the diameter of the factory one? Because I spent big on a custom 2.25 mandrel bent, stainless exhaust and was thinking of finishing it out with the larger diameter Weapon-R headers and a custom downpipe (if what I said above is true about the bottleneck), then the custom JE mani with upgraded fuel pump to keep up.
