Anyone have some good instructions on how to change the Serpentine Belt on a 2008 Scion xD?

Because I don't feel like typing in "2008 scion xd serpentine belt instructions" in Google's search bar, I figured I'd give you the quick idea of how to change it:

1. Jack up car and take off front passenger tire.

2. Remove inner fender liner to expose access to engine bay.

3. Use Toyota specific tension tool (not sure if xD's use it, but I know Sienna's and others do) to check the belt if it's okay. To check if it's okay, flip the belt around and look for cracks. If it has cracks or lots of cracks, it doesn't hurt to replace belt.

4. If it's not okay, remove belt and install new one ensuring that you torque it to manufacturer specs.

5. Replace inner fender liner, replace wheel, lower car back onto ground.

Done. If you've never done this before, it's probably a 30 minute job. For regulars, it's 10 minutes or less. And this isn't hard to do at all. I'd rather you save a lot of money on installation of this belt rather than belting out installation fees to mechanics. Especially when it's a simple thing to do.

Trust me, I've Googled it several different ways... could really only find instructions for other models.

Thanks for your help.

Have you tried Yahooing, Binging, Dogpiling, and/or ScionLifing it? ;)

It should be similar. If you're comfortable with tools, you can attempt it yourself. The process is virtually the same everywhere. If not, swing by your local dealer and ask their service department what tools you need to do the belt.

Bon chance!

The tensioner for the belt is on the alternator. Loosen the tensioner, and you should be able to slide the belt off. There should be a diagram of how the belt goes back on either on a sticker under the hood or in your cars manual. If you can't find either, draw a bunch of circles on a piece of paper representing the pullies, and draw the path of the belt.
