Default Aux jack & iPod inputs stopped working

Greetings:

Since my 08 Scion is unable to charge any iPod after 1st generation I've been using the Aux jack with an RCA mini cable.

A few days ago is began losing 1 channel then both. When I manipulated both ends of the wire the sound would come back. it then stopped all together...when I push AUX button nothing happened (like a wire was not plugged in, which it was)

So I assumed a new wire was in order which I replaced. New wire did not solved the problem...I tried a few wires 2 different wires.

I then tried iPod connection which also didn't work meaning AUX button not respond when ipod plugged in.

I pulled AUX assembly assuming the connection came loose....WRONG!

Any idea on how to trouble shoot?

Default

It could be either the AUX jack itself (sometimes they wear out due to frequent plugging and unplugging) or it could be the output port on your iPod.

To troubleshoot, I would try plugging in a different device that has stored music (another phone, iPod, etc..) and see if it works. If it does then it's quite possibly the jack on your iPod, if not, it will more than likely be the vehicle's AUX jack.

Hope you figure it out.
