Haha I hear ya! I don't have the time to fix things if it doesn't just swap out easily. My main concern is I'm going to go blue and I don't want to end up with dim lights like what happens to a tC if you don't modify the electonics.

You have never swapped an hvac in a tC then, if you do not use the resistor power ic, it turns out fugly dim. Takes the resistor / power ic mod to make it equal brightness to the gauge cluster no matter what led you use.

Well if that is what you call it, not sure how he managed to get any led other than red to be bright in a stock tC hvac without increasing power to the led *LOL* Hard to deny how leds physically work and voltage required to light them.

haha ok cool Yeah the only dimming is related to the HVAC The XD should have 0 dimming issues and I will show how to mod the cluster to be even brighter depending on light output.

Brighter? Oi, it's bright enough IMO! I'm thinking the XD shouldn't have any dimming issues as well on the HVAC side, but still I'd rather not be the test subject ;) My wife would kill me if it ended up with problems!

The xd hvac control ***** are common among many toyotas today, so no issue. Also the gauges will have no issue, they run at the proper voltage already as they are white leds stock.

Ohhhh well then... knowing that I might just pop them off and have at it! Blue/White here I come!

Oh wait... I have to have TIME to do this. DOH!

What about the side panels in the gauge cluster that house the warning lights and odo/gas meter. I want to do my ODO and gas meter in white, but don't they have the amber LEDs behind them?

Very nice! Man it's hard to believe there's MORE LEDs back there than the tC... but oh well! How easy was the cluster to remove?

Cake to remove. Yank off the coat of arms surround and you will see two phillips screw / bolts on the bottom. Take those out, unplug the cluster from the front and pull it out. That simple.
