I figured out you had to turn the holder for the 194 bulb. Well I turn the one, and yanked out the bulb. Problem is now the holder for the bulb went up inside the assembly.... Aka I can't get to it. Does it come out or anything? And how do you put in the bulb ? I need help asap

also, if i remember correctly, the whole assembly for the map lights (front two lights) comes out. you pull that out of the headliner, and the bulbs should come out with ease.

 

Yea, the whole thing should come down. I did the same thing to mine. lol

To change the bulbs, all you have to do is to pull them out. No twisting is needed.

 

trdxd is right, just yank the whole assembly down to get the clip out. and no, you did not need to twist prior to pulling. just yanking on the bulb would have gotten it out also.

pop off the square pieces on the interior of the trunk, twist the light assembly and pull out. pull out the bulbs, replace, and repeat for the second side. I scratched the hell out of my hands, but trust....no bending needed...

 

i think he means the cargo light....

He probably got the wrong size festoon bulb (the trunk/cargo light is a bigger festoon), easy fix is just to bend in the metal tab a little bit to fit the new bulb.

 

I was under the impression that he meant the trunk lights, i.e., license plate lights. the ones actually in the hatch. but anyway, the cargo light is the same size as the overhead light (door light) so there shouldn't really be any need to bend tabs? i only know the size of the bulb...to be honest, i couldnt pop off the cargo light cover, and i was on the verge of snapping it when i tried to pry it out, so i stopped

 

Maybe on the 08's the cargo is the same as the dome but my 09' and some other people's I've read on here the cargo is bigger than the dome. So it is neccessary to bend the metal clip that holds the cargo light in place if you get the same size festoon as the dome light! Needlenosed pliers and a bit of finagling will make it work just fine!

Ummm... I almost hate to ask this... but why not get the correct festoon bulb for the cargo area instead of bending it to fit the wrong bulb?

 

cause they don't got LED in that size....





didn't need needle nose... just used the trusty old finger-oo's

forril though. bulbs are cheap as hell, why not just pay for the proper size
