Default Scion XD Component Speaker Install

Was originally replying to another install thread so not complete, but messed up, so creating a new thread.
Couple of other ones that were really helpful as well.

I went with the Infinity Reference Component for the front and 2 way for the rear. Went with these because they had one of the higher sensitivity 93db, so the stock radio could power them easily. Got them from Crutchfield so got the adapters and brackets for the speakers. They're not perfect and you will still have to do some DIY.

FRONT
Cut 4 small wires and connected a bridge. Taped it with electrical tape and double side taped it to door.

Connected adapter to speaker plug. Cut the spade plugs off and connected to crossover. Found another post that pink is positive on drivers side and gray is positive on passenger side.

Mounted the crossover inside the door just behind the speaker. Drilled 1 hole. Put some double sided tape on the back of it, and screwed it in with a #8 x 1" screw. (Mounted it last after running the wires to the tweeter and woofer.

Cut to length and Ran 2 18 Gauge wires from crossover to woofer. Crimped a spade plug to the end of each to plug into woofer. These ran inside the door since both the crossover and plugs for woofer are back there.

Did the same for the tweeters but taped them to the other wiring.

Drilled out old speakers.
had some high temp roll of insulation and stuck it to back of bracket. Also stuck the foam that speaker came with to back of speaker, so double insulated. Then connected woofer to bracket with some #8 x 1" screws. The ones that came with the bracket and the speaker didn't work. They were too long and interfered with mounting. Just get some from Home Depot.

Others drilled new holes in the panel to mount, but i just used existing holes with 1/4 x 3/4" machine screws. Fit perfectly in the front. (Well get to the back later)

Tweeters i used one of the brackets it came with and JB Welded in stock location.

REAR
Same as front woofer except didn't have to deal with crossover or cutting any wires. Just plug adapter to stock speaker plug and plug into new speaker.

Only issue was speaker adapter bracket holes dont align perfectly, but just angling one of screws and made it work.
