Default Bi-xenon 5000K HIDs on xD

http://zoltiz.com/cars/xD/hid/

Getting the bi-xenon deal to work was a bit of a peach, but pretty doable. The idea was to preserve the high-beam functionality and get nice HID lighting.

Did not get to test the highs on a country road yet, but they are noticeable enough to warn/____ off a driver in the opposite lane.

Lows are flawless. I lowered the beam a lot compared to stock to keep it civil, but there was still enough light to drive around.

$150 kit off eBay.

Looks good...

I wonder when/if the factory foglights will be released, and how they'll look.

Yup, xD is HB2/H4/9003, same as xB1/xA.

Just got back from a "country road" drive - highs are not bright enough for me. Anyone wants it? $100 shipped. I'll be posting it in classifieds in a minute.

I'll run that past the old lady...we were gonna change out the lights soon anyway.

Me too. I actually took a pass on the xD today (for now) because fog lights aren't available. The dealer told me they'd be available 'in a year' though I think he was bs'ing. Also said that the Yaris didn't offer fog lights, which I'm pretty sure it does. I have to believe that fog lights accessories are on the horizon but the dealer had no clue and can't find any concrete info on when/whether to expect them.

Q: How do you drive in bad weather without fricken fog lights? A: Carefully!

Hmm. Never found any user for foglights except as a "looks" mod. And I've driven in some nasty weather.

You're lucky. They've saved me whilst driving in heavy fog and snow. Regular headlights reflect off the fog or snow so you can't see where you're driving.

I think they have to be actually yellow (kinda like Lexus ones) to work in the fog. Regular colored ones are more for show.
