My daughter's 2009 xD has started making a faint ticking noise that seems to coming from behind the dash. This ticking noise is only there when the vehicle is in motion and the speed of the ticking is directly proportional to the speed of the vehicle. Revving at idle does not produce the noise. Placing the vehicle in neutral when in motion and the ticking is present doesn't not impact the ticking in any way. This not a rattle or vibration of something in the dash.

It is difficult for me to tell exactly where it is coming from but it seems to be the drivers side. No indicators on the dash are on, cruise control works, and no issues are affecting the car.

My best guess is something speedo related. Speed readings appear to be accurate and there is no bounce in the needle at any speed.

Any suggestions and help would be appreciated
