Good Afternoon,
I have a 2009 XD. Anyone have replaced their control cables for the HVAC unit. My directional cable for the airflow is fraid and needs to be replaced. However the part that controls the flap is wedged between the main hvac unit and the blowermotorpart. On a same year Corolla you are able to pull the blower motor part to the side enough to get in between the two. I tried the do the same thing but the blowermotor part does not budge. I inquired at the stealership and they want $600 just for the labor at a minimum. So anyone have done this before? Someone on another fourm said to remove the whole dashboard but by looking at it this will still not give me the room to get in there. Any advice???

Well, I had to bite the bullit with this warm weather. In order to change this, the whole dashboard had to come out. The packed it in there for sure.No easy fix for this one!

 

How long did it take you to remove the dash? Any tips? Just now I tried doing the same thing of putting the blower motor to the side but it did not budge. I have to replace the vent control cable

 

Temperature cable - dial not turning -cable seems ok at the front ****. What’s next?

 

Hi. Did you finally install the cable?. How did you do it? I’m already removed the dash, what else I need to remove? Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.
