WOO sorry guys; busy day, and it seems like the same can be said for all your thoughts and comments. Thanks for the support everyone!

okay lets start here-- Her insurance is being stupid, saying there's conflicting reports, no sht. it was a car accident that was her fault, she WONT admit to it. Talked to my insurance, they said they're going to go after and sue her company to get everything scored in and settled, and in the mean time, they're waving my deduct. AWESOME. Seriously. So while all that is being handled, my cars being moved from towing-storage to the dealer we bought it at, Wondrie's, where its going to go through all the necessary repairs. Up until now, there's no rental being offered for free (i.e. covered by the other parties' insurance) and my coverage doesn't extend to rentals, so I'm out a car for a little while, unless they can settle on that soon. As of right now, the car has not been deemed totaled, and unfortunately I'm completely unaware of whether or not I have Gap(?) insurance (i've honestly never heard of it haha hence the (?)) So you just opened my eyes to it...and that could be an incredibly expensive thing that I may not be prepared for. We'll deal with that if/when it comes ><....

As for the HIDs, I was stupid and didn't look when I was taking the pictures. I kind of just got in, got out, got on with ____. Its dumb, cause when I was going, the entire time I was thinking that I should check which parts got the brunt of it, and whether or not I could determine the minimum damage....unfortunately I didn't look -_-. I'm assuming though, that its gone. The headlight really took the full brunt of the collision and then some.

JDMJim; it's yours hahah

Gap insurance is for when you owe more than what the car is appraised for. Say you owe 16000 on a car and it gets totaled and the insurance company says the car was worth 13500. Gap insurance would cover the 2500 difference, and also sometimes cover the deductible.

Default I feel for you

Know kinda how you feel. I have had my XD for just over 2 years and have been backed into Twice, Hit a javelina, Brushed a deer ( just had dust imprints and a little fur). Then tonight I hit 2 more javelinas. DAMN! Went around a blind curve in the pass and they were coming out of the wash. My front bumper snapped out on the side and I have Crap all over the side of my car. Lived out here 20 years and never had this happen until I got my XD. Bad luck car BUT I love it.

Your repair is probably going to cost more than mine did, which was around $6500

If you have a job (don't remember) and need a car to get there, you can always force the other car insurance to shell out for a rental car I did that when my idiot hit me but then they realized I made more than what the car rental would've been so they opted for the car rental.

Actually I have to settle my claim.. I've just been too lazy..

just a note, GAP is not something you carry through your car insurance, its something they offer to you when you're signing papers on the car, bout the same time they ask to extend your warranty. more than worth the extra couple bucks a month.

It's not totaled but damnit.. probably expensive. Not my fault either, so hopefully the other parties' insurance helps us out.

Poor little thing...

You can get gap insurance thru your insurance, if they have it available. They usually offer it at the dealership as a separate thing but I have mine thru my insurance. Its called Repair/Replace and takes the place of my collision insurance. It was maybe an extra $20 per 6 month policy so MUCH cheaper than the gap insurance offered thru the dealership. Basically if anything happens to my car, the insurance will pay to either repair all damage or completely replace my xD with the most current year available minus my deductible, regardless of how much I owe or how much the car is worth. I get it thru Traveler's Insurance.

xDTool and Sefi, thanks for more info on the GAP insurance; if it truly is totaled, which a few people have told me it very well could be, then I guess I'll have to go through that way? Apparently I don't find out until Monday the verdict of the cars' condition.

No job right now, got laid off :\ but I'm a college kid and I want a car to go out and enjoy my winter break! SHIETTTTT!!! Lol we're working on the rental, or rather, Geico is. Chels your accident was quite some time ago; you should settle soon hehe (watch, I say that now and in a few months I'll have not done anything. lawlz)

Desertritz...Javelina...that really caught me off guard, until I saw where you live. That really sucks to hear, the worst I have here are rogue squirrel..and once a baby bunny, which i almost hit, and almost made me throw up. Good thing he bounded away.

and to sum up? yes. I rawk out with my fauxhawk out bro

I'm pretty sure you have to have that insurance in place before an accident. They don't let you get it after the fact.

I hit a huge, fat raccoon last week. No actual damage to the car but he ripped off and cracked my front tube of my underbody light kit. Gggggrrrrrr......

Maybe so, but it is still only about $7/month and is well worth it. A friend of mine needed it when someone totaled his Mazda pickup when it was just a couple of months old. Gap paid off without any questions.

If it does the same thing and its cheaper, I dont understand why you'd want to pay more at the dealership.

$4899.22 in damages w/ labor (which was only like 900) or something. Insurance adjuster/agent/whatever they are went down to Wondrie's body shop to make the estimates, called us up and told us they're not covering the tire that was popped because my tread is worn to about 80%....which compromised it, and therefore is why it popped...

let's see a picture of this compromised tire shall we?

sure looks like tread wear was a factor...I tried calling the guy to settle things out but his phone was off so I'll be up tomorrow calling him about this sht..

isn't an insurance agent from a company who's working to sue the LIABLE parties' insurance supposed to back me up, and try and get her to pay for it? not tell me the tire is my problem? The lack of logic in the fact that 80% = compromised is what is really ____ing me off..
