The lack of logic in the fact that 80% = compromised is what is really ____ing me off..
I'd definitely fight this until they give you a better wording. Fact is though, most insurance companies will diminish the value of the tire based on tread wear. And at 80% even if they did cover it, the value would be so diminished you'd still be paying for a good part of the new tire.

My opinion is that is where they are coming from on that, while its lame, 80% of tread wear might be diminished to the point of not being worth anything to the insurance company.

actually xDTool I see what you mean; I guess I was blinded with rage when I heard about it, but you make a good point. They could at least try to get the new tire out of HER insurance though. But I guess we'll see how things work out in the end. This whole thing is bittersweet for me; Sucks that it happened, feel bad for the car and hate seeing it like that. Maybe PW:JDM will come -a- callin' right when its all fixed D: haha

just in case anyone still cares (lol) got more info; wondries just got under the car to take a look at the suspension/etc. and ish is LOOKIN WORSE!

all they said was: suspension damage, front right axle replacement, engine subframe damage

so good game on that isht. after looking at the wheel I knew the axle was gone, or at least compromised, but i didnt think the subframe was touched...

figured id post...anyone starting to think its going to be a "total" ? haha damages prior to these "discoveries" amounted to 5k so...we'll see.

Just remember, if they do total it and it was not your fault, you are entitled to REPLACEMENT value, not "BlueBook" value.

Don't get screwed, make sure they replace your car the right way...

lol gotta be honest, if I'm getting another car, it's going to be an s2000, not another xD ;)

but really now? 16k is what i shuold be getting? that's actually a huge relief...we still owe money on the car and wouldn't have had any extra for a downpayment on a new car (we owe what its worth ><) but if I can get at least 16k, then damn. thats an extra ~2k in my pocket for a downpayment!!

geico's sending down a guy again for more estimates. rosses fingers:

s2000.....please....lol

it's what i got, and i owed 12,444 on the loan still. so i got a good chunk.. i signed for a new xD tonight, picking it up tomorrow. 0 down, but i'll use the money i'm getting from insurance AND the maintainence agreement i had on the old car (5 years, i used 1 oil change) to pay off credit cards, to free up more money to go to car payment. i'll be hacking that principle down in no time.

HELLA smart financials man. that sounds legit, and i found out today that we owe around 12 something, so everything should be fine in my case as well, they had an insurance adjuster person go down today, he gave us a call but...had a hectic schedule so I'm calling up tomorrow just to see.

waited 2.5 months for them to fix the damage only to find out the subframe was bent. They should have totaled the tc then but they decided to use a junkyard sub-frame. Waited another month and then got the car back only to find out it was still pulling hard. I finally wised up and took it to toyota who wrote up another 2000 estimate and finally the insurance totaled it out. Went through absolute hell like no one could imagine. It was a nightmare and almost 9 months later and im still without a car.

Another thing to remember TRD, depending on how they run numbers and how the laws in your state are, they may just replace it with another xD. Sometimes they don't just cut a check and send it your way. They may send an adjuster or whoever to arrange everything with a dealership and your lien holder and just hand off a new one. If that happens you should make sure you get EVERYTHING out of your old one that you can hold...

ah very true deathmachine. Guess I got a little caught up, we'll see how it all works out though...if i get another xD maybe I can just sell it?! we shall see. but for sure, if they total this car I'm parting out some of my isht anyway. TRD Exhaust anyone?

damn though on the tC....does look pretty damn similar to mine, that blows that it took so long for them to finally deem it a total -_- that's why I'm gonna be giving them a call today to see if we can push the option, in all honesty even if they can fix this I just really don't want it anymore -_- it's all good! no matter what happens, stuff happens for a reason. we'll see.

but...9 months and youre carless right now? EFF. I'm going to go crazy if that crap happens to me -_- are they taking too long to pay out? or no money for a new car?

i got all my LED's out of the old one, and i find out my police scanner (which was bolted on UNDER the climate dials, which means someone had to tear the center console out to get it unbolted) and my 7 color interior kit were gone!!!!

my adjuster KNOWS they existed, they did before the tow to the salvage yard. AND i have pics. so if they do end up as stolen, they're covered under my insurance now, AND a police report will be filed.

but i brought home the new D tonight... black currant. beautiful... i'm gonna swap out all my lights with the led's this weekend. now i gotta get my fuggin scanner back. i need that for my emergency responses.

Police report for stolen police scanner? op: lol There are some shady people out there. On another forum I'm on this lady had an apartment fire and the clean up crew cleaned her the f$#k out. Half the apartment was untouched by the fire but they took everything including her xbox, tv, etc etc... She was upset. Especially when someone tried to sell her some of her rare SNES games back to her (I believe she works at gamestop or another store like that)
