Default Ouch, Hit and Run

So I was driving to work this morning, and got stuck behind our local trash service men, and when i finally found a break in traffic to pass him, the truck behind me decided he wanted to go around both of us. since i was already transitioning into the passing lane, our lovely result was this. Btw, he also decided where he was going was more important than an accident report, probably didnt have insurance.

The damage doesnt seem too bad, hopefully theres no frame twist or drivetrain damage, a second later and that would have been my A-Pillar and driverside door.

Nope, I should have been paying better attention in that aspect, he pulled over for a moment, so i thought he was stopping, and i got out looked at him, looked at my damage, looked up and he was hauling tail.

the wheel held up pretty well too, I'm almost sure he hit it because the steering wheel jerked hard when he hit me and there was a huge piece of fiberglass form his bumper diffuser lodged in my tire. not sure if its still straight, but the barrel didnt bend or anything. I'll take a better look once the adjuster has his way with it.

What a peckerhead. Seriously, sometimes people deserve a good "WHOMP!" on the head!

Insurance or not, you suck it up and deal. Sorry about your car man. I feel for you! Keep us updated!

Will do. I do want to get a jack under the car so i can get a better look. I'm just worried that something is structurally wrong because the damage doesnt look that bad from the pictures or even looking in person, but it definitly felt a lot worse, and i could barely drive it to move it off of the road.

Nooo

Do you remember what car and color it was? I would file a police report and they would, and should, go look for a matching truck with the damage in the right area.

Yea, I filed the police victim report and described everything.. I saw him yesterday around town driving down the road opposite of what i was going, not hard to notice a huge Chevy Tahoe with silver all over the side of it.Unfortunately traffic was blocking his plates (we only have plates in the back here), and i flipped around, but i couldnt get behind him fast enough and eventually lost him.

I'm sure ill be seeing more of him soon.

I already discussed this heavily with my insurance agent and my adjuster. My rates wont be going up, I just have to pay my 500$ deductible because they cant claim it on anyone else's liability, unless I find the guy and get his plates.

Lip kits are not bumpers.

Anyway, get some quotes first. Tell the body shops you'll be paying in cash and see what they say. If it's 1000 or less just don't file the claim with your insurance. Wouldn't want to waste your accident forgiveness on some crap like this. Bumper should run 220, fender 160, and I'm not sure about the light.

I changed lanes with signal and a RAv4 behind also did AND passed me in the grass as I couldn;t go back cuz I was next to a car. but we were on a 2 lane highway...these drivers and there ways are getting annoying. everyone thinks they are SO important...too bad that happened that way

Been getting tired of the morons on the road. The wife bought a little Sony Webby hand held HD video camera for a trip. I've been working to get it installed in the car for my ride into and from work. Video is a little jumpy due to the setup I have. Working on a fix for this. Camera is attached to the post on the headrest.

GreyFox, that happens ALLLLL the time here! On the exit closest to my apartment, there are 3 lanes (left turn only, a middle that can go either way, and a right turn only). People CONSTANTLY turn right on the red despite a sign stating "NO TURN ON RED" posted inches above the light.

The kicker? When I sit there on a red light, people HONK! Idiots. I got my education, I can read.
