so driving home today, listening to the ipod as usual and all of a sudden between songs i notice what sounds like wind in the back. i quickly determined it was not just on the ipod setting and that it was isolated to the right rear speaker. i would like to fix this as soon as possible, which probably doesn't mean a dealership. how do i determine if it is a bad connection at the speaker, the head unit, or if the speaker is blown?

Did you have it cranked up? Was it a song with strong bass? Does it sound ok at low volumes? You might have blown it..

 

it started cranked, but its never had any problems before. now even at low volume its extremely noticeable.

 

Is it "cracking" per say?

now its fine. no static, but both rears seem a lot quieter than the fronts when the fader is all the way to one or the other. still gonna take it in and see whats what, but i may end up upgrading the rears after this ordeal anyway, even if it was a cable.
