I've been searching for the perfect hatchback for a long time -- the xA was too cramped, the Yaris too shoddy, the Fit too ugly, the Versa too uninspired -- but the xD is pretty much perfect and I'll be getting one as soon as I can afford it.

For some reason I can't help but think that an MG or BSP would look downright snazzy with white wall tires. I know the xD isn't exactly a retro car, but what do you folks think? (I wouldn't be getting a rear spoiler as that only makes it look more modern.)

 

Hrm, no idea what it would look likw thiout the stock spoiler actually. It might look like a mini PT Cruiser lol. White walls... aren't those hard to find period though? Thats what I thought I've heard for the longest time.

 

Well, I think it would look hot if you did a kinda hot rod theme. If you'd be willing to go and do some flat black paint, throw some baby moon hubs, and the white wall tires, I could see this being an amazing car.

 

Mini PT Cruiser? :o I think not! haha. Actually when I tried to build one through scion.com it seemed like the rear spoiler wasn't standard.

Whitewall tires CAN be hard to find, but there are also plenty of ways you can make/paint your own. I'm sure it has varying degrees of success though.

What are baby moon hubs? Can you post a link to an example? I thought it might be kind of cool if the entire hubcap were white, but I have yet to see anything that looks like that.

By flat black, do you mean matte instead of glossy? Not sure how I feel about it - but I'm definitely open to suggestions! As soon as I get my hands on one I'm gonna wanna start modding right away. My focus is going to be on technology (a friggin' fantastic carPC with as many bells and whistles as I can).

 

 

Real old school hot roddy. And yeah, flat is no gloss, like a primer black...I think the white wall tires would be cool for that. Just saying, if you like the retro look. then maybe some red pin striping...ooo, I have too many ideas!lol. good luck with whatever you decided doing, man.

 

Um, daddy likes. And what could be cooler than a retro paint job with tons of technology packed inside? I'm gonna think pretty hard about going in this direction when I finally get my hands on one. Thanks for the advice guys and gals. :D

 

Not my cup o tea. I wouldn't paint em, especially if it was gonna be a daily driver, will fade or worse bleed over time. Good luck with your ventures though

 

Do you mean the wheels, or the flat (I decided maybe satin) paint job? 'cause I agree that the best way would probably be to buy tires that were already white walled.
