Default White xD test drive and pics

Yesterday I test drove a white xD 4AT. The car had just been delivered, and still had plastic on the seats. The stereo hadn't been installed yet either. The interior is not as cheap as some people have said. It looked to me like there was less plastic than the xA I test drove a few years ago. The area in front of the instrument panel is very spacious, and the seats were comfortable.

The 1.8L provided more than enough HP to merge with traffic on the freeway, and I easily passed a car in a very short passing zone on a two lane highway. Handling was nimble, but road noise was noticeable.

I've also test driven a Honda Fit Sport. I'll be buying the xD, not the Fit.

White looks really nice, even better than the silver that I'll be getting. Almost jealous

Looks like they just kept pouring engine pieces in there under the hood, trowled it level and called it good. Very tight fit!

Good looking little beast in white. For right now, if someone runs over my box, that would be the replacement, I think. Not a perfect replacement, but closer than anything else I'm familiar with.

Hope to see those sell well.

^^ i think its kinda supposed to.. i like it, tho. If only they offered it w/ AWD... >:D

I read somewhere that the dash is supposed to be a "cheap vinyl," but all the pics show what looks like the xA and xB style plastic dash (not that its a bad thing). Is it plastic or fabric?

as far as the ride went, how did the steering feel compared to the fit? I hated how the fit felt, it also had more body lean than i like. the yaris i test drove was great, very comfy yet still fun. the electronic steering on the yaris was one of my favorite features. the xd is supposed to be a 'sporty yaris,' does it live up to the name in the handling department?

great pics, im glad to hear the seats are nice. i love my xa seats, they support in all the right places. the fit seats were way too flat - my butt was extremely uncomfortable the whole 10 minutes of test-driving

last question: can you see the hood at ALL??? i HATE not seeing the hood on the xA or the fit. not that you need to on such a small car, but it would be nice! the xD looks like it is flat enough on the top to see while driving...

The dash material is dimpled vinyl. It didn't look or feel cheap to me.

I didn't take either one through a slalom course, but the xD handled comparably. According to Edmunds the Fit did a little better in the slalom than the xD, but the xD handled just fine on the windy backroad I took it down. Keep in mund that it had mid profile rubber mounted on steelies, so a good set of performance wheels and tires would only make it better.

Honestly, I don't remember, but looking at the pictures again, I'm confident you can.
