Default Suspension rattle

I have had a problem with suspension rattle since swapping out OEM springs and struts. I have traced down to what I believe is the lower sway bar. Anyone have anything like this happen? Or know of any upgrades out there to improve the sway bar? I can only find link ends, and I'm not sure if they would help and be worth the money.

the end links could be the issue. i replaced them on my buddy's xB after he swapped to coilovers cause they were just making a racket. no noise afterwards. im guessing this is up front right? if so then id say its the end links going out.

Yea...its up front. I have found a few on ebay for a reasonable price. I guess its worth a shot. Any advice on a good brand? I might not have much of a selection as the xD isnt as popular as the xB or tC.

Heres an update.

I got the new end links installed and all seems to be working great. I haven't been able to put them to the test on a good curvy road, but have taken some hard right and left turns which would of pushed my sway bar out of alignment with the old end links.

So if anyone is having problems with front suspension rattle...the sway bar end links are worth checking into.

BTW, I found these $30 cheaper than the ebay link I posted earlier. Heres where I bought mine.

Hey cuball, I'm also experiencing some rattling in my girls ride. I got c8sports coils and when I was installing it, I was told that the metal hat of the OEM strut rests on the metal hat of the coil over, with the rubber mount on top of all of that. Is that the correct way to install these xD coils cuz I'm starting to think the rattling is either coming from those to hats hitting or the sway bar end links.

The rattling kind of goes away on turns but on slow straight sways, it sounds like something is going to fall off...

Yep...I was running the Ksports at one time. They made some noise at slow speeds. Drove me nuts! I believe the endlinks with the kit are adjustable, so you have adjustment at both ends. You will need to find that happy medium where the swaybar is balanced and is holding the top of the strut straight and firm. If you look at the metal hats...they should be sitting even with the body, not offset.

I ended up taking my Ksports off and selling them because of this problem. At the time I didnt realize how important the endlink was. There was a couple of times where the endlink adjustment bolt came loose and twisted the endlink into my tire! Was scary and decided I needed to get rid of the setup.

I would probably take your car into a professional and have him adjust them. This suspension is pretty advanced and isnt for the average person.

Ok, so we did take it to a proffessional shop. Apparently I overlooked tightening the bottom nut of the end link, but either from that, no more rattle and everything is well. Thanks for your help guys.

ThisorThat - thanx in advance for posting up pix of the install. It'd be good for future xD coilovers owners that c8sports needs to metal top hats rather than being confused about installation not knowing what to do while your cars in the air haha

Btw Happy Birthday!
