xD Rear Spacer Shims Install w/PICS ~ Now Available ~
i believe tuck is when your fender is covering any part of your tire. as a result you don't see the the top curve of your tire. the reason why "I" would stagger is to get the flush look. for the xA and many other cars, the rear fenders are wider than the fronts. to get the flush look, you'd have to buy 2 different widths of the same rims and probably different tires too. it will just cost too much. the cheaper way is to just get spacers.
yelosub thanks for the help for installing shims on the xA. i hope my brakelines don't break off the hub cuz 3/4" is pretty thick. the shim wouldn't sit flat, i had to somewhat force my hub to sit flat and get all the bolts in.
This picture, I finished the right side. Compare the left and right. Might be hard to tell since it's 3/4 inch but it's there.

Done with both sides.

Right side close up.

So, tuck is ride height: fender covering the tire or addressing that wheel 'gap'
And YOUR reasons for staggering are the 'flush' look...also-a substitute for rolling fenders. Ok.
Thanks for the post.
well i did some google for you and found this link about staggering.

i think you have rolling fenders confused with staggering. people only want to roll their fenders because their car is too low and wheel too far out that the fender is rubbing against the tire. you can either roll your fender, remove any spacers, or get higher offset rims (most likely not) so the wheel can be "tuck" inside the fender.
hope this helps.

Yes. I was diluting stagger w/fender clearance when typing that post earlier.
I understand there are many ways to clear a fender.
Bottom line is "tuck" the verticle space or horizontal space when referencing fender vs. tire?
Thanks.

That picture on the curb was just for fun...
Now that I'm on DF210's I tuck the rear all the time, remember fenders are grinded down and I'm not running any spacers at all...When my tires need replacing I will be ordering 215 or 205/40/18's so that I can run a slight stretch...Then I will throw the spacer shims on so that I can more flush...May switch to different rims, who knows...I would like to run true staggered, i.e. 18x8.5 front and 18x9.5 rear on a 215/40/18 tire...
