Default Xd in snow?

I want to buy a 09 Xd but I'm not sure if it handles well in the snow. I'm a confident driver in the snow and would equip it with bridgestone blizzak studless snow tires. Does anyone else have experience with this subject. Thanks,

after my first winter with the xD, it is a good handling vehicle in the snow, even without VSC. On the steep hills around my house (that is rarely plowed that well), I usually placed my auto tranny in 2nd and it had great traction. No problems.

Thanks so much for your input. I was planning on getting the VSC.

Drove over Snoqualmie and White passes in Washington several times last winter. Seemed to handle snow as well as any small fwd car I've driven. No experience w/ black ice tho. (Mine had stock tires at the time - yours should be great with blizzaks.)

After I posted the question I realized that ICE was different than ice. I'm quite often a dork so I had a good laugh at myself. I'm new at this, can you tell? Haven't told my husband yet, this will keep him laughing for a long time.

I laughed a bit earlier when I saw this post.

Just so you know, we had a crazy winter in Ohio this year and my xD handled very well. I have VSC and it was used periodically. It scared me the first time it was working in the snow, but it was great to have.

Of course, the driver makes all of the difference in snow. The xD will treat you well if you are comfortable driving in that type of weather.
