Default Rim Size questions

I am currently brainstorming my build on my 2010 scion xD (on deployment right now, saving all i can). I am looking at a Tien Basic coilover drop (somewhere around 1.9-2"), and im worried about tires rubbing after the drop. Im looking at going with a 18 x 7.5 rim size with 215/40/18's, im not sure of the offset, mainly becaues Wheelsnext.com doenst show that information from what i can find, but it is searching by my car, and that is supposed to "verify fitment". any advice on any of this from anybody? all help is appreciated, thanks guys.

with the setup you have listed if its in the 35-40 offset range you'll be fine, i just wouldnt go higher than 40, or your wheels will look sunken

my personal opinion is that the best looking "safe" setup, is a x8" in the 35-40 offset range with a 205 or 195mm tire.

yellowsub has reported rubbing with his 18x8 +35 on 225/40s but im running 17x9.5 +30 with a 215/45 and really dont rub very often in the rear, mostly just in the front. so i think if you stay with a 215 or smaller tire, or over 35 offset, you should be fine

that leads me to my next question. What color rim would go best with the Barcelonia Red? Im thinking black or bronze, i just havent figured out what i like more yet. any opinions from anybody?
**edit: or maybe even a polished/gunmetal color, im just indecisive.

black would be my first bet, but a bronze would be a nice way to change it up.

i did that to gauge what bronze would look like. i think id go that route personally. just my opinion ;P

Looking at these wheels - Privat Vulcan 18x8 and have TRD shocks/struts/springs... this website says they'll work. Anyone think they'll rub? Wanted to run 225/40 tires (wife's car, she's already ____ed about the TRD stiff suspension so I figure 225's would be a little kooshier than 215's). Please help... I'm about to order!

I like the Konig's better too... and sorry for horning in on your post. I'm looking too. Is your car is Black Sand Pearl? If so, I agree that some gloss black would look good, perhaps with contrasting silver
