Default xB: Question for Tein Owners, both H and S-Tech

i tried searching, and all i get is how much lower or how smooth the ride was after install. i trust in tein, and i plan on only getting tein. for now i want springs, later on maybe next year i'll get the basics. for now, here's are my questions.

if you are using the stock struts/shocks, how are they holding up? what are their life expectancies?

i like the s-techs for the lower stance, but if they contribute to the 'death' of the shocks much faster the h-techs, i rather get the Hs. please provide your input. thanks!

ive had my s-techs since about april and ive seen no problems with the factory strut/shocks.. horrible roads here in jersey too so thats a true test.

A+ for Tein

I have tried two sets of springs and I am currently on S-Techs.

First set -
Gold Lines: These were great springs, but too low for me after adding audio and getting a kit. They are stiffer then the s-techs and better when it comes to turns. They don't ride as smooth as s-techs on the freeway, but it is better then stock.

Second Set -
S-Techs: They super great on the freeway, but they are too soft of a spring. They bottom out a lot on bumps and turns.

The struts don't need to be replaced until they are blown. They will take some time for that to happen. The next spring I am going to try is the hotchkis Springs since the company is geared towards performance.

thanks for the input. at first i was just going to wait for the basics, but i figure i could do more at once if i just went with the springs for now and sold them later. any more feedback is appreciated. thanks.

I had my S-Tech for about a week and a half now and the ride is almost like stock. Handle a lot better even with my bald front tires . It sits very low and no scrapage yet and I live in Mass. we have like manholes instead of potholes.

i have the s tech,s and just like ikonxone said they are a bit soft, i feel like i got more than a 1.5 drop. i wanted 19,s but now that i have these springs im gonna probably have to settle for 18's or 17's.

I like the h techs cause they're soft, but I don't like them cause they are soft.. too much body roll, and most of the improved ride was canceled by the new wheels/tires. I miss my goldlines, to be honest.

H Techs here, with a 215/45R17 tire on BSA 17x7.5 wheels. I have a 3MM spacer int the front, and 10MM shims in the rear. Over all, the ride is great. I have had them installed for over 6 months, and over 10K miles. No more body roll over stock, IMO. Ride is over all much better then stock, and i too live in NJ ... pot hole heaven.
