Default tail light tint

is there any law as to how dark i tint my tails, i might just put some overlays, but i like the dark look, ne laws in MA, and about how much to paint rims, or should i do it myself.

its illegal in all 50 states to change the light output of head/tail lights... a semi-dark tint prob wont be enough to get you ticket unless you get pulled over for some other law first.

just food for thought: you get rear-ended. guess who's fault its going to be? it will most likely be 50/50 even though you didnt do anything because the driver can claim he didnt see your brake lights because they were tinted.

vht nightshades. i got pulled over for it once and the cop said it was becuase you couldnt see the reflection from the tails. if you tint it lightly i'm sure you'll be ok

eh f the popo... But it would suck if u got a ticket for em but if it was a fix it ticket wouldnt paint thiner take it right off and u would b back to stock

not after the VHT has baked into the lights... I tinted the tails on my tC. Never had issues with police although I dont drive like a maniac either...

i dont drive like a maniac but i put on A LOT of coats. i went through almost 2 cans, haha. it matched the car and light still shined through

That's why you keep a set of stocks, just in case - get a ticket, put the stocks back in to show it's been fixed, then out they come again.
Hmmmm, what a coincidence - I happen to have a pair of tinted tails available (the 'medium' ones in the middle), if anyone is interested.

I "failed" inspection in NH too. The guy at the dealership just gave the car to another mechanic and he gave me the sticker though.
