tire size - correct speedo
My OEM goodyears are getting a little worn. I happen to have some 195/60/R15 Yokie ES100s on hand. I would be replacing the stock 185/60/R15s.
In relation to the new size, the tire calculator says:
"Speedo reading is 2% to slow. when speedo reads 60 mph actually traveling 61.2 mph"
In my mind this would make the speedo more correct, as it seems to be set on the fast side from the factory. How would this effect my Odo reading? I know the Speedo and Odo are incorrect in different directions, right?
Anybody else use 195/60/15s.
5th gear should seem slightly longer which is a good thing for lowering the highway rpms.
(edit* The Odo is 3% off from the factory tire size, and the Speedo is 3%? off in the opposite direction, right?
So there is about 6% discrepancy between the Odo and Speedo with 185/60/r15 tires landing in the middle. does this sound correct?)
-thanks
