quick question about the LAW
I was just at a stop light for like 10 minutes and it wouldnt turn. Its almost 2am, so its not like it busy AT ALL. I ended up just running it. Wondering if there is something in the law about this? Could I still get a ticket?

It'd be better to make a right turn, then U turn, then turn right. Then you'd be 100% legal. Running a red light is illegal, regardless, but it is up to the officer's / judge's discretion to give you leniency, which they often do for this kind of scenario, especially for motorcycles.
But do some research, there are ways to look out for those sensors and get them to trip.

Late night.
No one around.
No one watching.
No cameras.
No cops.
No one affected by running the light.
Waited for a substantial amount of time.
Came through safely.

I think there was a thread not too long ago about some guy here getting ticketed for this.
Seems like I remember something about cops have a way to rig these lights to do stuff like that, which I think it was said they could get in trouble if they ticketed you and you had reason to believe they tampered with the light.

i do it all the time, there's a light like that near my place and no one is ever near the intersection late night, so i just run it. recently though they changed it so that after 11pm that certain light flashes indicating a 4-way stop intersection. i guess too many people were running it =P
i heard though if you own a bike, a lot of times the sensors wont catch you at a stop light so you can be there for a long while. supposedly the boys in blue let it slide if you look left, right, and left again before running it on a bike.
also try turning off your engine and turning it back on, that usually trips the sensors from what i've seen.

if the neighborhood is alright, get out of the car n push the pedestrian walk button if its there
and on contrary to popular belief, flashing ur highs wount make the light turn. n not so sure about turning the engine off n on will work either.
if the traffic light is triggered by radar or sensors in the ground, reverse or move up a bit.

actually there's somewhere in the law book that states if the light's been red too long and there's nobody else there triggering the thing you're allowed to go through it (lots of discretion advised)

If its one of those ground sensors that pick up the weight of a car on it try backing up and driving over it a few times. One of the lights out of my neighborhood is like that and it works like a charm.
