Ok guys this morning I get in my car and start it and go to turn my head lights on and there is nothing. Now I know sometimes that HID's can have a problem with coming on and u just turn them off and then back on. So I tried that like 5 times.

So I am wondering if anybody has any idea as to why my hids aren't coming on. Sounds like there is no power running to them. Cause they don't even make that familiar pop noise they make when u first turn them on.


Would it be just the fuse? And if so, where would I look to change it?

 

which hids do you have? if you have an inline fuse connected to battery from the ballast, look into that.. then look at the fuse for the headlight on the fuse box on the engine bay, cant remember which one but should be in the manual

 

Check the relay if you have one.

 

noob question, how do you know if a relay is blown?

 

I have the HID kit from Operatic if that helps.

I wouldn't know how to check a relay either ha ha

 

I use a $5 multi-meter that I got off the counter at Auto Zone. If you have power going to the relay and it still doesn't snap closed it is bad. Use the meter to make sure you have power and ground to the relay. Also I carry my OEM bulbs with me in my center console just in case I lose a ballast or bulb from my HID.

 

ok so is there any way to tell if the relay is gone bad without buying a meter?

also where would i get a new one if this one is bad?

I had the same problem a couple of nights ago. I have mobileHID and a relay. The problem I had was my relay. I just relocated my relay and it was fixed.

 

What do u mean relocated the relay?

 

It might be getting wet where you have it now. I think that's what happened to mine because it fried it. So I replaced it with a heavy duty one from Auto Zone.

 

The relay isn't wet at all. I actually have it right next to the battery and it was dry when I checked it. When I get home I'm gonna check the fuse and hope that's it. Other than that I'll just buy a new relay and hope that's it.

 

im having that same problem too... i got mine from operatic. and imma place the relay somewhere else that doesnt get wet and see what happens... i hope that 1 year warranty works. cause i only had these for like 6-7 months.

 

Check all your connections. After I relocated my relay I found that a connection was loose.

 

ok i got it working now. I just took all the fuses out and put them back in. After that the headlights started working again. Simple as that. YAY!!! Thanks for the help guys.
