Hey guys, I was thinking on changing the tail light bulb on 08 tc to some LED bulb. Anyone have any idea on how that would look? Would it look close to having the actual LED tails? Post pics if you have done this. Thanks for the help.

 

IMO they WOULD look good. im going to get them for mine later, sorry have no pics.

IMHO, it would look like CRAP.

insufficient LED "bulbs" that shine nice and bright... in a puny little area/spot because of it's inefficiency to utilize a reflector housing made for a halogen bulb.

bright little dots that would not work well... not even remotely close to what an actual LED taillight would look like.

 

thats why u dont get the LEd that has a specific angle. get one that has a full 360 degree so it can utilize its houseing relfectors

 

Don't do it, it won't be bright enough. Problem with the LEDs like Squal said is that they don't hit the reflectors in the housing. It needs to point backwards towards the base of the bulb and all the bulbs i've seen so far only do 360 around the bulb, but not backwards. Hope you understand what I'm trying to say.

i've seen led's installed in a 1st gen style tail light, looked good

 

There are some 7443 style LED's that hinge open into a 2, 3 or 5 wing array. The LED's also mounted on both sides of each hinged wing. I would be curious to see the light output from that setup.

 

those will look even more like crap, and they won't fit right either
