Default how to: rear wiper mod

Before I begin I just want to thank spider 13 for his advice

Standard legal release you are responsible for your own destruction um, construction!!!

Also sorry for poor quality pics taken from nokia camera phone too poor with this xB payment and tuition for a digital camera

EDIT: In starting this how to be sure to remove the wiper by pulling off plastic cover and removing the bolt along with the wiper

1. With trunk (tailgate) open carefully pull tabs until they pop off.

2. After tabs are removed you will see wiper motor remove 3 bolts holding motor to the rear and undo the one electrical connector

3. With motor removed undo four screws (power tool or alot of torque needed to undo screws). Carefully remove cover until you see gearing inside.

4. Slide silver arm to correct hole to allow the arm to be extended this might be year specific (doing this on an 06) for me it was the top right hole (CAREFUL do not move white gear I did this in the beginning and had to redo everything )

5.Carefully reattach everything but dont bolt down the wiper. Adjust wiper. (I didn't do this and wasted another half hour figuring out why wasn't working properly.

6. Bolt down wiper enjoy (have to send a shout out to all my scikotic peeps)

Rickisan, It puts the wiper at a 45 degree angle resting instead of at the bottom for more of a JDM look I just like it cause it is different

Ok well I just went out to give a shot since I really have nothing else to do and I CANNOT GET THOSE LIL' TABS TO COME OUT! Soo I just took the wiper off and then repositioned it to what I wanted it. I know this ain't the right way but it will do for right now. I just wanna do this right some time but man those tabs are a $^#@&*(!!!
Anyways... someone got any ways to make this a lil' easier? lol

just get your fingers on either side of the tab and just tug it requries a little effort I was scared at first as well but they will give

Thanks Whatmovesu! I'm going to try it when I get my xB sometime later this month. Also, going to do grounding strap, A/C filter, front map lights... I've got a lot to do and don't even have the car yet

I'm confused.

The title of this thread is single wiper mod. That usually means there were multiple wipers and you modded it so there was only one. I don't know about you but my xB only has one wiper back there from the factory.

Another question.

Is that mod really JDM??? I think that is hidious. Why have your wiper sticking up like that all the time. Different doesn't always mean good and maybe thats why you don't see many people doing it.

I have mine like that and think it looks a little better, just up to prefferance...but opinions are like a-holes, everyone has them, most of them stink
