hey, anyone know what size the tires will be on the 18s and 19s? The Scion dealer I went to didn't know, so he brought out an 18" TRD wheel from an xB and the tire was thin as hell...

but looking at some of the pics of the tC with 18s the tire looks just as thick as the tires on the 17s...

obviously, my worry is denting a rim... the roads here sometimes resemble a demilitarized zone (kudos to anyone who knows what movie that line is from)... I used to drive an IS with forged 18x7.5" Volks with 225/40 tires. I hit a seemingly mild pothole once, but since my wheels were very strong the force ended up breaking a hub bearing... but say that happens again with non forged wheels (as the option wheels probably aren't) and thin tires as the ones the xB comes with, then goodbye wheel...

sorry for the long post... anyone know? ;)

you should still use 225/40 on the 18 x 7

about how much would it cost to replace all 4 tires on the TRD 19s or a ser of rims similar? does anyone know? thanx.

From your post I thought you ment how much for tires OR some rims like the ones that come with it......I thought you wanted to get the sames rims but cheaper...I'm not sure for price on tires just that link gives you a good idea of how much you might be able to save if you go aftermarket then TRD rims

j/k... anyway, amidst all the confusion the first couple of posts brought, does ANYONE KNOW TIRE SIZES for the 18s and 19s?

for example, on a 18x7.5 wheel, one might use 215/35/18s, or 225/40/18s.

 

ok, i answered half of my own question...

the 18s will have 225/40 tires on them... 19s i have yet to find out... found out this info from Steve Ganz over at Carson Toyota/Lexus/Scion... I used to deal with him in the IS300.net forums and he has a HUGE following... he is definitely a great person to go to for parts!

that was my OWN plug for a dealer, but he's really that good ;)
