Hey guys,

I just bought a set of 17 x 7 wheels with a +40 offset. What size tires should I get? I'm not lowered right now, but I plan on throwing on some TRD springs later on. Also, I was considering some 205 -40 -17's... would this be good, or should I go with some a lil bit wider? Any help you guys can give me is greatley appreciated!

205/45/17

 

Everyone will say either 205/24/17 or 215/40/17.

I'm going with 205/40/17 and I firmly believe nothing will be wrong since I know people who have run this size for close to two years.

If you live where you will encounter potholes do not buy 205/40/17s go for a 215/45/17 I have 205/40/17 and I bent every one of my rims at least once. with a 205 you have very little sidewall. I have also had to replace two tires because i have broken the belts in the sidewalls when I hit said potholes.

 

7 inch rims will fit a maximum of up to 225 on them. Lowest I believe is 195 that fits safely.

 

hey fellers....just to let you know, I went ahead and bought some Kumho AST's that are 215/40-17. Once my wheels get here and get mounted, Ill post some pix!!!
