i do. but honestly, since the last time i was in here looking for a tutorial i have learned a LOT about wiring and i am confident that i could do it myself if a tutorial were never to show up.

i may do some interior lighting this weekend, i have some stuff to change out and move.

... im not gonna deny the fact that i did this back in high school... looking back on those days im kind of ashamed... not to bash because the installation of the leds was clean but just some freindly pointers from an ex ricer, clean up the wires by electrical taping themtogether all the way thru so it has an oem look and when a fuse blows ur girl isnt schocked when a birdsnest of wires pop out. and then behind the switch, just crimp alll the wires to spade tip connectors, makes for a nice clean look =) and color coordinate man lol or just get a oem looking switch from oznium.com. idk personally stuff like that to me is gaudy but then again id rather have mine throw up some smoke than some interior lighting too. but to everyman his own, nice install

hey great write up, just got a question... i tried once to put some LEDs in the door panels but i was confused on how to run the wires. in ur DIY you say thats it controlled by a switch, but it seemed like for the door handle you tapped into that blue 12V cord. i dont know if i missed something but i couldnt find a way to run my power from the door to the rest on my LEDs i have installed... are your door handle lights always on or are they controlled by your switch?

Nice write up however I noticed you didn't put an resistors in. I would think you should always have a resistor for each LED to limit current and protect the LED; or is the current low enough not to even worry about this?

+1 on the question about the leds on the doors... r we looking to splice a constant 12V source from the bunch of wires in the door?

is there anyone that knows how to hook up lights to domelight without running wires all the way to the dome light?
thx in adv

Oznium has some excellent kits for that very purpose.

Check it out; it's actually really easy.

Very nice write up. We need a DIY for the xB! I've look all over the forum but nothing. A DIY LED air vent would be nice.

In retrospect, this tutorial that I made is god awful. I ended up redoing all of this this past summer using cleaner wiring, soldier, and heat shrink. It is a lot cleaner now. My setup was not very thought out properly when I did it the first time.

Is there any real difference from wiring the switch to a direct power source like the battery or to the ACC line?

If you wire the switch to Acc. you don't have to worry about leaving the lights on and killing your batt. since the switch only gets power with the key in the acc. or run postition. Basically a switch on a switch.
And did anyone else notice how old this thread is?

i think its funny how all these scion owners scream out RICE at every opportunity

first off, its a japanese car ********, so that means according to your standards, WE ALL BOUGHT RICE! so get over it.

second, these guys tend to be the guys who dis lighting because they think everyone should focus on power mods

I love my scion and i do like to add power mods, so normally i wouldnt say anything negative about it but any person who thinks they're going to turn a scion into some super fast race car needs to lay off the acid...they were designed to be economic cars not race cars morons

Yeah but we just ignore people that judge cars by rice or no rice, so just ignore them. And yes i know this thread is F*kn old haha, thats the cool parts. Id rather revive a thread just clutter and start new threads. Anyway thanks for the answer, but sum1 told me a direct power source was more reliable. Also can some1 tell/show me exactly how or where the Acc line is? It just looks like a shiitload of wires in that hole. Also I no longer need the mini fuse line in between the switch and power source if im wiring to the ACC right? cuz i bought it already hehe.
