Default INTERESETED

I am also interested in the new kit that includes all the instructions, LEDs and premade wires needed for the guages and HAVC. I prefer ALL BLUE except for emergency, seatbelt, battery, maintenance and other similar led.

engifineer could you PLEASE PM me a $$$ and let me know if you could make it happen.

Nothing will void you warranty. They can only refuse service if they can prove that your mod caused it.

I have some kits ready to go (with the new mod), but I am backed up for a week or so. I have already promised some to people. I got all my parts, and leds here the other day and everything is already spoken for. Sorry to those who have been waiting for replies and info, I will have info for you today and tomorrow (I only have about 50 messages and emails to reply to ). I just dont take any money until stuff is ready to ship, which is why I made you wait I will get the kits I have ready and get more parts in asap for more.

Ok, finally have some together partially and sent the first kit out last night. I did the first mod other than my own last thursday. Now I know you all will hate me.... , but I am travelling to visit family for the holidays, but can resume on tuesday of next week with everything. All work purchased is complete and shipped, so those that are waiting on stuff be ensured it is on the way already, so you wont be left hangning :D

Here is a pic of a kit installed. Not the best pic, but gives the idea of the install process:

I wish it was prettier wiring wise, but running everything that way eliminates the cutting, running wire under the plastic surrounds for the leds (other than the LCD, which has a small gap under the end anyway), etc. Hopefully next week I will be adding something else to that board for another mod as well.

For now, I am finishing up at work and heading on a 9.5 hour drive in a few hours, so Happy Thanksgiving to everyone.

I will get in touch next week!

Yeah, its a long drive, but due to the location of airports and available flights, flying makes little sense (especially with three of us travelling). I like road trips, but after making the same one through Iowa for about the 20th time or so, it gets old Shutting down right now and getting ready to roll, so talk to everyone later.

I'm looking to make a "shopping list" of parts needed for this and other LED mods. There are so many threads, and new ones every day with noobs asking " is this the right part number, etc"

Blue seems to be the most asked for ( and for some reason, higher priced) led's. BTW, so far superbrightleds.com has been the source for all my bulbs

Here is my list so far.

Licence Plate : 2 WLED 5-LED Wide Angle LED bulb
Rear Dome Light : 1 3022-x4 LED Festoon bulb
Front Dome Light/map lights : 3 WLED 6-LED bulb
Rear Cargo Area 1 3022-x4 LED festoon blub
Cubby Hole (under HVAC unit) #74 LED bulb

Now.. the question i have, as a noob myslef. I am going to do the full gauge cluster, HVAC unit, and the door switches as well. I have heard that PLCC's work the best, other places say that 1206's work the best.. Someone shed some LED light on this for me please.
Also if you have anything to add to the list, why not let us collect all the info onto one shopping list. When complete, clean up the posts and make a tech post for it.

plccs are what the stock size are for pretty much all but the door switches... (which are 1206)

there are plenty of threads that have this so called "shopping list".. including this one.

there is a tech section on this forums that lists every thread you can need and find.

Thanks Dave I appreciate it. I haven't gotten the chance to install you new kit on the HVAC yet but I will soon. My dad worked on soldering my LEDs in this morning. Took him about 30 minutes. I serioiusly screwed my speedo needle trying to do the color change on them though. I broke the inside of the needle where it attaches to the circular hub scrubbing the needle with finger nail polish remover. I tried to superglue it back but it ended up eating the paint of the circular hub. I had to silicone the needle to the inside of the hub. I gummyed up the paint pretty badly. If anyone has an extra speedometer needle please contact me

Here are the results...

Looks good!

I take the needles completely apart when I do them. I remove the plastic lower peice and take the entire clear part out. This makes sure I dont hurt the center peice while cleaning and painting and also ensures I get it painted all the way back into the needle housing.

Super glue does work great to fix them if they break, but it is pretty nasty if you get it on the rest of it.
