Found this quote on the site...

"Progress has designed this rear sway bar kit to work in conjunction with the stock front sway bar to improve handling by getting the car to rotate more in the corners."

Does this make sense to anyone? I'm a bit confused. I was set on purchasing the Hotchkis Front and Rear Sway combo, but now I'm confused again. I might just purchase the Progress Rear Sway. I doubt I will ever need/use the front sway. HELP!

BTW; nice write-up! Will definitely come in handy whenever I do my install.

pretty cool that they come with the end links. im assuming that you just set it to the same length as the stock ones and lock it up with the nuts?

good DIY! thanks!

i don't remember checking the length.
I just bolt every piece together.
Maybe i should take it apart and check it again.

hmmmmm. not sure.

thread awhile back claimed it wasn't necessary, now if you do a front sway then yeah, an alignment will be needed.

I am running both the front and rear hotchkis sways... I did the install myself b/c I had the use of a bay at my local toyota/scion dealer (I have the inside track w/ them) and the use of a nice lift.

The reason that a lot of people dont install a front sway is that on the tC you have to literally drop the entire front sub-frame of the car in order to install it. Takes a few hours with the right tools and know-how. I will say this... having both of the hotchkis sways on...she corners like she's on rails! then I also have the TRD front strut tower brace...and dropped on hotchkis springs... handles so much better its not even funny. The hotchkis sways are wider diameter than most...and nice and stiff...
Anyone that rides in a tC like mine with the hotchkis TVS suspension setup... will be willing to fork over the extra cash to install the front sway if they cant do it themselves.

jsingh.... ^^ dude... if you cant do it yourself... fork over the cash to have the front hotchkis sway installed... you wont be able to wipe the smile off your face after experiencing the handling..... ***just a note***..... if you go with Hotchkis sways.... they are NOT designed to work if you only install the rear...as they are very heavy-duty stiff sways...

No I have not...I know the Progress and TRD rear sways were designed to work just as is without a front sway. I'm just saying that running a setup with a front sway as well as the braces...is very tight...and handles very well. But also I was stating that the Hothckis brand sways are not designed to just install the rear sway.
I have ridden in my friend's tC and he just has the TRD rear sway on TRD springs... it definately handles better than stock..but not quite as tight as having the front sway and upper tower brace.

I would put it like this....IMO
Stock= good
Rear sway + lowering springs = better
front & rear sway + lowering springs + strut tower braces = best
