First of all, cookies are NOT spyware. They are a small text file that is stored on your computer by your browser to save small chunks of information. They can NOT harm your computer in any way.
ScionLife uses cookies to keep track of your login information and to monitor how long you use the site. This allows you to automatically stay logged in and allows us to determine how the site is used so we can improve the parts that aren't being used much and possibly add new features if an area is getting a lot of use.
A lot of people do not understand what cookies are. Some news publishers made a big deal about how cookies are letting criminals read your provate information ,etc... but unless a website specifically stores some of your personal information into a cookie then it is not available to anyone. The only information that we store is your username and some login time data.
Relax, the anti-spyware software that you are using is just being overly cautious. I doubt that anything that we are doing is considered a "pretty malicious spyware cookie" because there is no such thing as a malicious cookie.
