I chose to reply directly to your post so I could respond to some of what you said.

Not everyone going to the xD forums (for example) wants to go to the lounge, a good number of them will want to go to one of the other xD sub-forums so we have to wait until folks select the exact forum they want before taking them there. Since it is not always the lounge, we can't just drop everyone in the lounge...

As to the curse word censor (our CensorBot), all of us agreed before ever being allowed to make our very first post here to follow the site rules, and that includes the rules about "language." If someone actually follows the rules they agreed to they would never even know the CensorBot is on duty...

I'm not sure exactly what you are referring to about the PMs not showing the newest and latest PMs in your user CP, but I suspect what you are seeing may be the old messages that the new software thinks you have not read.

When the PMs were brought over from the old software, it wouldn't tell the new software what had been read, so the new software played it safe and didn't mark any of it as being read - it didn't know.

What does that mean to you? It simple means that you need to go through your PMs ONCE and mark them all read and everything will be normal.

You don't have to mark them read one by one, you can mark them read a page at a time.

I can't write ____ed off, aka p|ssed off because of the censor bot deems it a bad word? So if I wanted to make a post in the SoCal Keeping in Touch thread about a dog ____ing on my car and the owner not doing anything about it, that's bad? The majority of the posters on SL are old enough to watch their mouths without needing a censor bot. If not, isn't that what the mods are for if things get out of hand?

I've already read the PMs that are showing up and they continue to show up no matter what.

Being dropped off in the lounge won't hurt anyone because you can still see the other subforums IN the lounge area at the top, so you see them first when you scroll down. Or at least make the Lounge and option to choose from when going in to the model section.

The User CP still doesn't have the correct links to threads. "scionlife.com/forums/usercp/showthread.php". I should not have to copy and paste the link in to my address box and delete "/usercp" to get to the thread.

I appreciate the response, but it didn't help much.

I agree with ChelsDS. If we arent going to be dropped into the lounge when selecting simply the xD forums say from the drop down, atleast put it then in the fly out menu from the drop down. I usually DO go there first and its annoying to have to click, wait for load, click again, wait for load, when all the other forums can be gotten to with a single click.

To the Haters:

To all those who are complaining about the CensorBot, GET OVER IT!!! If you are unable to communicate without offending the CensorBot you need to spend your money on education and not the next hot mod. The meaning of your statement should not be limited by your words.

To the Mods and other Web Gods:

Get the registry and garage areas merged. You have had plenty of time to make the required changes. You want people to become paying members then you need to deliver on the requests of the users.

 

Just wanted to say thanks for adding the Lounges to the pop out menu's for the forum drop down. Makes me happy! :D

 

The guys working on things are getting to them as fast as they can.

Glad they got that one fixed (and added in the xB2 stuff that was totally missing).

Any chance we could get gifs to work for avatars? I know they worked on the old site, and they don't seem to work with the new format.

 

i just noticed that the title on the webpage says " Scionlife home of the Scion xA, Scion xB, and scion tC owner and enthusiast" what about the xD?

not sure if its been pointed out or what but just curious.

 

I have a couple of suggestions for the "my posts" link.

- The My Posts drop down menu is unnecessary. Just make it a simple link that goes to the "first visit" list. If I don't want to see older messages I just won't scroll down, no need for an option to not display them.

- The old-style My Posts button on the home page should link to the same listing of threads, NOT the listing of my individual posts that it does now. For 75% of my visits I just want to look at that list and catch up on the threads I've posted in. Right now it take 3 clicks and and extra pageload to get there when should be available in 1 click like before.

I just checked a couple of avatars that I know are animated .gifs (mine and dugzilla's), and both of those are chugging along just fine...

What problem are you having?

The gif isn't animating, it's just showing the first frame.

 

i've done that same thing but it has to be in the parameters of the software saddly so that means it has to be 80 x 80 pixals nothing bigger or it won't work...
