New tC owner, few quick questions...
I just picked up an '08 tC and I have a few questions. I am looking for a short-throw shifter. Who makes the best one, TRD, B&M, or a different brand? Also I want to put XM in the car. I was able to get the dealer to install the Scion Navagation unit at no charge by making the tC purchase a 2 car deal. My wife bought a Yaris S sedan at the same time. I don't want to spend the $450 Scion wants for XM. I have an XM tuner and Alpine adaptor that plugged into my old Alpine HU in my previous car. Is it posible to use the XM tuner I already have and buy a new adaptor unit? Thanks for any help!

good luck getting them to give you a free head unit, because they well...won't.
as for shifters, check the parts section under the features bar at the top of the web page.
don't waste money on the upgraded scion audio stuff. overprized and underperforming, just integrates nicer than most aftermartket units.
and yes, if you get an aftermarket head unit, you need an xm tuner to work with that aftermarket head unit. not the scion ones.

I believe all you need to install the XM since you have the tuner and the h/u is the interface module. The XM tuners are universal, but its the interface modules that are brand specific to your h/u. I know Best Buy has them but i'm sure you can pick them up for a bit cheaper online. I also believe that the majority of cost that Scion charges is for the install which in my opinion is a little steep.
As for short shifter, check on DocIsotope or Creative Compacts for a good value product. The B&M is solid and Perrin is ultra adjustable, but they are also shifters on the more overpriced side.
