Default I'm feeling very old . . . .

OK, so I'm one of those old guys who bought the xA because it was cheap and reliable. It's fun driving a cool car even though I'm not.

But now that I've finally succumbed to wearing bifocals, I've come to realize that the xA is really a young guy's car. Bifocals are supposed to help you see the gauges in your car by allowing you to glance down using the reading lenses and look out the windshield with distance lenses. It works well EXCEPT when trying to read the offset gauges in a Scion.

Oh well, I'm sure the Scion designers knew this would happen when they designed the centered console and just figured that us old folks shouldn't be driving a Scion anyway.

So does this mean that you're going to give the vehicle back up for adoption?

I wear tri-focals (distance, up close, reading), and have no problem seeing the gauges in my xB or my xA. And I'm old.

WAAyyyyyyy Old. 40.

To some, that is young. But to others, that is old. It all depends on which side you are on.

I have difficulty only with the odometer during daylight. The backlighting is just not enough to make it highly visible.

I'll be fifty soon, but I don't feel a day over 65.

If you just switched over to bifocals, give it time. When I switched, it was really weird even with a convential instrument cluster... for a while. Now I can't tell.

In general, does the centrally mounted instrument cluster seem weird? Is it easy to get used to? What about if you switch between an xA and a "normal" car? I haven't bought an xA yet but I'm thinking about it.

It took me about two weeks to get use to the center cluster, but now it seems weird if I get into a "normal" vehicle, but I have no issues switching-it's like riding a bike. I really like it cuz it seems as if you can see forever.

I remember being 40 ... sort of ... but I think an xA can keep ayybody feeling young! I'm having a great time with mine!
