Amp problem
Check your ground connection and make sure everything is very secure. Chances are you have your gains turned up too high and are clipping the amp and pushing it too hard. It is probably going into protect mode... what amp do you have and what speakers are you runnig? it may be time to buy a bigger amp
2 reasons come to mind.
1. you might have your subwoofer, especially if it's a dual coil wired wrong. So the ohms are too low and it turn the amp off.
2. Your amp is simply overheating from the load.
