It's peanut butter jelly time!
Ok, so I picked up a used 1NZ-FE with 52k miles on it from a salvage yard. The guy tells me it's been sitting there for 1 1/2 years (indoor storage mind you).
I get the head off and pull the oil pan, only to find this:
I'm praying it doesn't contain samonella.
What causes the oil to gunk up that bad? When the pan was drained what came out was nasty black and had a burnt odor to it. And you guessed it, orange Fram filter installed. The only time I've seen anything like this is when water gets in it. I'm hoping the head or block wasn't warped, I don't really want to have to send out for it to get planed.
There wasn't any trace of this in the head, the inside of the valve cover and cams looked brand new.
BTW, EVERYTHING is getting swapped out of the bottom end except the crankshaft, so hopefully this won't cause any issues. The block is being washed, blasted and then hot oil soaked before being bored, so any trash left in it will be gone.

I have seen this before............When coolant gets mixed with oil and gets violently mixed/heated it will turn oil to peanut butter consistency. rebuilt a V-8 once that failed/froze even thought the dipstick said full, all the oil was stuck at the bottom of the pan.

So, what you're saying is:
"hey, you got oil in my antifreeze"
"No, you got aintifreeze in my oil"
Should I just dunk the oil pan in milk chocolate and call it a Reece's?
