do you think it would have been possible to further increase stiffness by using a shape other than a rectangle or adding a diagonal cross bar?

 

True, triangles are an amazing way to generate stiffness however, with a larger diameter exhaust you would get rattle and rubbing, also the difference between the way we sell them and has been shown over my experience to be the same...the load required to warrant such additional structures would rarely if ever be seen on the streets.

 

sounds good, i looked around elsewhere and cusco doesn't seem to have a problem with using quadrilateral shapes. I'll probably opt in for one in a bit. red/black are color options i presume?

 

I would imagine a trapezoid would be significantly stiffer without adding more than ounces in material

 

Unfortunately after the testing we conducted we found this shape to be ideal for both keeping cost low and performance high. I appreciate your opinions however, our testing has resulted in what we view to be the finest piece...Weight would not be a problem, as mentioned before rubbing would though. This brace lies right under the exhaust so with a larger system rubbing would occur.

 

So if I get an aftermarket exhaust it will rub with it? and has any one bought one yet? Also has R&D for the front strut bar began?

 

No it wont rub because we went with the rectangular construction! you can run any exhaust and be safe! Front strut will follow our X brace which should be later this month...

 

Don't know much about mid chassis braces, do these actually make a difference? Or are they mind over matter like strut braces are for our car?

They're cool, but are they really a performance piece, or are the more cosmetic?

 

without going into too much detail...

all of these suspension parts...assuming they are manufactured correctly...will make a big difference in handling when EVERYTHING (or mostly everything) is installed

so having only a strut or only a mid brace or only control arms...will have minimal feel. if ur going to get one or two of them...then its mainly cosmetic...if ur plan to do the whole thing...it will greatly help in handling (especially for events like AutoX)

Very much agreed...the shop car is a 2010 Mazda 3 with 7 different braces each made a difference but when combined, the results were staggering. I will make a promise to customers though. I take performance seriously and will NEVER sell parts that are purely cosmetic. If in R&D I find it doesn't do anything I won't sell it. TB isn't just two letters, it means Track Built...function>forum...As a car enthusiast it would be shameful to sell parts that are pure cosmetic...

 

So If I get the trunk brace, mid chasis brace, and your front strut bar would this be a good mix for my car as it is a daily driver for now.

 

Gotcha, I didn't know that. Former Silverado driver here, just switched to a TC 5 weeks ago so I'm still learning haha. I've heard that sway bars are what makes the big difference. Is this true? Or do you have to have sway bars as well as all of these different braces

Wow I was under the assumption that it was another under car brace. I just googled it and seems like a bit much...

 

Yeah it would make a difference being braced front rear and mid...add sways and you'll never go back!
