You guys are making me really consider getting a honda si now. STOP IT. I want more power too, we'll see how much they are when they come out.

Here is all the information you would want to know on specifications. Not by edmonds... not by a 3rd party source but from Honda.
http://www.hondanews.com/CatID2015?m...58648&mime=asc

and as you can see. the tC still has shorter gears.

The RSX-S is clearly a better buy. weighs less, More hp, more torque.. and suprisingly cost about the same

http://www.hondanews.com/CatID3023?m...68070&mime=asc

06 Civic SI = teh suck. It does outperform the NA tC, but it doesn't out perform its big brother the RSX-S and cost the same. So hey g'head and get on the Vic Band Wagon. NA tC < 06 Vic SI < RSX-S (by performance)
Vic SI < RSX-S < NA tC (By bang for your buck) and the tC is below the 20k mark. NOW you wanna go with cars in the 20k+ range
Vic SI < RSX-S< Cobalt Supercharged < Neon SRT-4 (Suprisingly it goes the same for bang for your buck and performance.)

good luck with the new SI. the increase of weight in civic's in the last few years is sad. the low curb weight of the civic is what made them so appealing to me.

Soo.... you want to sell me your RS1.0 grill before you get the SI??? :D

i say this is just weeding out the ricers from the people who choose to be different and apart of something bigger, A Scion Community.

thats what i think. maybe not what you think

so those who choose to switch to the "Darkside".....good luck and have fun with your deathstars!(figurativly speaking)

Actually, the 06 Civic Si engine is not the k20a2.

The engine is actually called the K20Z3. A major difference is that the Si engine has a balance shaft, so that the engine runs smoother throughout the powerband. Also, the engine has similar cams with the K20Z1, the 05-06 RSX-S engine.

Regardless, the 06 Si engine appears to be the best K series engine available in America.

Eh the k is pretty hot. but still not a good as te 1.8l redtop from the Integra type R. 198 ponies out of the 1.8l and I think it even had a higher torque value.

The B18C from the type r had 130 peak ft lbs @ 7000 rpm, which is less than the K20Z3. Also, considering that the 06 Si specs are rated with the new SAE standard, that means the Si engine fares even better. In terms of hp/liter, yeah the B18C is technically "better", but I would think a person like you would prefer the richer torque curve found in the Si engine.

Btw there is a better K series engine, but it's only for japan. Its the k20a for the type r integra (rsx) which has 220 ps.

Well although the torque is greater on the larger k20, its only 9 at the crank in a car that weighs a lil over 400 lbs. So the torque is better for the weight of the car. Wich is why I will stand by and say the 1995-98 integra type R was the best sports compact Honda ever produced and actually made it to the USDM.

i aggree the type-r b18c5 is a great motor. but the k20a type-r is by far a better motor. I've read that a ported b18c5 head cannot flow as much cfm as a stock k20a type-r head........plus ive see a usdm type-s motor handle bolt-ons, and a 120 shot of nos to lay down 330ps to the wheels(stock internals). Toyota is a great manufacturer for motors.......the 4ag, the 3sgte, the 2jzgte.......for example.
